Family Cinema Club 2015

In January 2015, a new family project started in order to humanize, educate and make aware people through Films. This project is called “Family Cinema Club” 

During 2015, movies were shown in two cycles: “Values and anti-values through the Seventh Art” and “A look to Latino Films”

In the cycle: “Values and anti-values through the Seventh Art”, a set of movies were aimed to analyze and extract remarkable moral and ethical values and anti-values from their stories.

Screening 1: The Way Home (2002)
Country: South Korea
Genre: Drama 
Treated values: Respect and tolerance to elderly.
Anti-values: Egoism and intolerance.

Synopsis: Seven-year-old Sang-woo is left with his grandmother in a remote village while his mother looks for work. Born and raised in the city, Sang-woo, quickly comes into conflict with his old-fashioned grandmother and his new rural surroundings. Disrespectful and selfish, Sang-woo lashes out in anger, perceiving that he has been abandoned. He trades his grandmother's only treasure for a video game; he throws his food and he throws tantrums. When Sang-woo's mother finds work and finally returns for him, Sang-woo has become a different boy. Through his grandmother's boundless patience and devotion, he learns to embrance empathy, humility and the importance of family. (FILMAFFINITY)

Impact: This masterpiece makes us reflect on the way we treat elderly. Sometimes, it is difficult to accept the sad reality of these people who are victims of forgetfulness and intolerance. However, this movie shows the love and the  sacrifice made by a sweet grandma.
